About Me

Hi, I'm Stef Schalks, 19 years old, and I live in Middelbeers in the Netherlands. I'm studying Software Development at SintLucas.

I like to build websites, both front-end and back-end, with languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, NodeJS, etc. I make a lot of side projects in my free time as well. I also used to build games before we learned more about websites at school, so I also have some experience with C# and Unity.

My hobbies are playing tennis, which I do for over seven years already and making a radio show, which I do for almost four years now together with a friend. You can listen to 'Just Music' every saturday between 16:00 and 18:00 on EenFM.

Furthermore, if I start on a project, I will not stop working on it until it has at least reached it's MVP (Minimum Viable Product) form (this might be either finishing it right away or rebuilding it to make it cleaner or to learn a different tech stack), and most of the times, I will keep updating it until later than that. With every project I try to do something new and learn new things, some later examples are Bootstrap and TailwindCSS for styling, Ruby on Rails & Laravel as backend frameworks, and Firebase, Supabase and back4app as Backend-as-a-Service (BaaS) tools.
